Armed robbers threaten pregnant woman, surveillance photos released

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - We talked to Bailey Napier, the pregnant clerk robbed at gunpoint, about seeing the surveillance pictures released by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Thursday.

Napier told us, seeing those pictures helped piece together a little more what happened that night. She said it was so fast, she never even saw the criminals come in the front door.

She said that night was a scary and traumatic experience, one she's hoping will end with the arrests of the robbers.

If anyone has information on who the suspects may be, contact Detective Scott Mackey at 719-520-7291 or the sheriff’s office at 719-390-5555.

Bailey Napier had decided to keep working until closer to her due date in March. She was an employee at the Subway on B Street in Colorado Springs.

On Feb. 12, just after 10 p.m., she was closing up shop when two unexpected visitors came in the front door just as she was on her way to lock it.

"I grabbed my phone and I look up and they are standing right there," she said.

It was two men with their faces covered, wearing long sleeves. One of them had a face mask similar to one worn in the movie "The Purge"; the other had a t-shirt covering his face and he was pointing a gun right at her.

"The first thing I said was, 'Please don't hurt me, I'm eight months pregnant,'" she said.

They demanded money from the register. Napier noticed they didn't bring a bag, they just grabbed the money and ran off.

"They didn't take the tips, which surprised me. It was right there, right where the register was, but they didn't take that, which I found a little odd," she said.

Napier told 11 News that deputies who responded were able to pull fingerprints from the store because the criminals weren't wearing any gloves.

She decided to leave her job at Subway after the robbery.

On March 9, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office released two surveillance photos of the suspects. They are described as two men who wore masks and black hats.

"I just can't believe they had the nerve to point a gun at an eight-month, a pregnant person who's eight months along ... As soon as they saw I was pregnant, they should have just left."
