8 injured in crash Thursday evening

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The Major Accident Unit was called out for a crash that left eight people injured. It's not clear how severe those injuries are at this time.

It happened Thursday around 8:30 p.m. in the area of Drennan Road and S. Academy Boulevard in southeast Colorado Springs.

Officers say two cars were involved. The crash ended with one car in the north left-turn lane in front of a southbound car.

Southbound S. Academy Boulevard and all of Drennan Road were shut down for about six hours following the crash.

It remains under investigation.
