5 teens surround man, rob him at gunpoint

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Five teens surrounded a man and robbed him at gunpoint, then fired their weapons as he ran away.

The suspects remain at large.

The victim was walking through a neighborhood just northeast of Fountain Boulevard and Union Boulevard around 10 Wednesday night when he saw the group loitering outside. He told police they noticed him approaching and called out asking if he had a cigarette, but as he got closer he saw all the boys were carrying guns.

The teens ordered him to hand over personal items, but the victim told them no and kept walking. The group then circled around the victim while one aimed a gun at his head and another grabbed an undisclosed item from him.

Afterwards, the suspects fled the area, cutting through nearby Adams Park. As the victim ran away in the opposite direction, he told police he heard gunshots.

Officers later found a parked car and a home in the area that had been hit by bullets.

The suspects are all described as black teenage males in dark clothes. No other descriptive details were available. The robbery happened on Boggs Place.
