COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Police are still trying to determine if a cyclist killed Monday evening was in a crosswalk when she was hit.
The deadly crash happened around 5:30 p.m. on South Nevada near the southbound I-25 on-ramp.
"It appears as though that the individual was close to the sidewalk," said Lt. Howard Black with the Colorado Springs Police Department. "Whether she was walking her bike or driving it through the crosswalk has still been undetermined."
Also undetermined is how fast the driver of the car was going or any other factors contributing to the crash, Black told 11 News. The driver did remain on scene afterward and was cooperating with the investigation.
"Obviously, at that time of day, we have numerous witnesses. Those individuals are being interviewed," Black said.
The names of the victim and the driver have not been released.
