3 illegal marijuana grows in El Paso County raided

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Authorities raided three illegal marijuana grows in El Paso County on Wednesday seizing a number of plants.

The DEA first hit a home at 1342 Ellicott Road. Later in the day, they hit two other homes at the same time, one on 13630 Whistling Hills Lane and the other on 26550 Myers Road.

A little more than 300 plants were taken out of the home along Ellicott Road. As of Wednesday afternoon, authorities were still tallying the number of plants taken from the two other homes.

Wednesday's busts bring the weekly total in the area up to six since Monday.

Agents say the busts were a combination of outside and inside grows. Some of the plants were only hidden by a fence.

Neighbors in the area told 11 News "it's about time," when it came to the raids.
