2 arrested overnight for alleged possession of meth

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Police arrested two men overnight for alleged possession of methamphetamines.

A Colorado Springs police officer was in the area of I-25 and Fontanero Street when he spotted a car around 12:30 a.m. Friday with fake license plates. He pulled the vehicle over, and when he got up to the car, he found drug paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamines in open sight.

Officers say the passenger then gave a false identification and was detained in the police cruiser where he was found to have suspected methamphetamines on him. He was booked on unlawful possession.

The officer found the driver of the car also reportedly had more than 65 grams of suspected methamphetamines, a scale and $2,225 in cash. He was booked and faces a charge of unlawful distribution.

The two arrested were identified as 45-year-old Robert McCuan and 36-year-old Arvin Smith. Their mugshots are below.
