COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A man was shot in the stomach while in an apartment complex parking lot early Monday morning.

Police say the victim, a man in his 40s, was able to walk himself to the building to call for help.

"The victim was in and out of consciousness. We did have officers apply a pressure to his wounds, just to stop the bleeding. He was rushed into the OR," said CSPD Sgt. Troy Bauer.

Bauer said the victim wasn't able to provide much of suspect description yet. The shooting happened shortly after midnight Monday in the area of South Chelton Road and Verde Drive. Anyone with information is asked to call the Colorado Springs Police Department at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
