1 shot in Pueblo's Belmont neighborhood

PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - A shooting victim told police he was shot in a drive-by while walking in the Belmont area early Sunday morning.

Officers on another call nearby heard four gunshots in rapid succession and went to the area of Constitution and Mac Neil to check it out. The scene was clear, but not long after, police were dispatched to a home a few blocks away, where they found the shooting victim.

According to the victim's account, a dark-colored sedan pulled up beside him, and the people inside shot at him before speeding off. He was hit in his lower right leg.

The victim told police he didn't know who shot him or why. Officers are still investigating.
