Free light bulbs, xeriscaping classes and ice cream floats are waiting in this week's "Here's the Deal."
The government will eventually phase out all traditional incandescent light bulbs, and we'll only have access to newer, energy efficient bulbs. Here's The Deal is here to hook you up with a dozen of the newer bulbs, without spending a dime.
Springs Utilities will trade up to 12 CFL bulbs for an equal number of the old style bulbs. You must be a Colorado Springs Utilities customer, and bring a copy of your utility bill to the address you'll find at the link below. This offer is good for only certain wattages and styles, and as long as supplies last.
Colorado Springs Utilities is also offering free xeriscaping classes to help you save money on watering your lawn and plants. It even has a couple of xeriscaping gardens you can visit, with examples of trees, shrubs and flowers that work well in Colorado. All of this is free, including a link to those plants on its website.
You can enjoy some free ice cream to beat the heat. Maggie Moo's Ice Cream and Treatery is offering a free mini Coke float to celebrate its birthday. The party is Wednesday, July 20, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Promenade Shops at Briargate in Colorado Springs.
Please remember, all offers are subject to availability and product providers may end these offers at any time.
