People from around the world are reaching out and donating millions of dollars to help the disaster-ridden country of Haiti after a 7.0 earthquake destroyed nearly everything in site. And Southern Colorado has proven once again that it's eager to help those in need.
KKTV viewers have reached out to help in such a huge way and we want to thank you for your generosity.
On Wednesday and Thursday this week, KKTV staffed our Call for Action Lines with American Red Cross volunteers for two hours each day, taking calls of donations from our viewers. We were astounded to learn that in just four hours, KKTV viewers donated more than $22,000 to help in relief efforts for the people of Haiti!
Thank you for helping us help those in so much need after such a devastating disaster.

how come we cant do this for the homeless that are deserving in our city? $22,000.00 raised would go a long way to help them!!
I also believe in giving, but just who are we giving to. Who is in charge of this trust fund? Put a large amount of money in the bank and someone will cash their check no matter who they are. Someone has to be accountable. Who is that person or organization?
I wonder how much Southern Colorado people really cares about the disaster in Haiti? In the Denver metro area they collected over $3 million dollars in just 1 day. I heard that in cities just like ours collected over $500,000. I know that there are racist and people who just don't care. Come on, this is people helping people. If I was rich, I would donate as much as I could. But unemployed and have no money, I will do all I can to help our people out. Thank God because somebody cares for Haiti people.
