It's a holiday filled with dressing up and candy, but some youngsters got to do that plus have fun with the arts.

From dance classes to theater classes and even piano classes, the kids who showed up to the first ever Halloween open house at the Colorado Springs Conservatory showed off their skills while keeping with the Halloween theme. You normally don't see a piano class with a ninja, witch and Elvis ... missing a tooth.

But that's who showed up to these free Halloween themed classes. "Just watching my little ones really pound out on a piano and they are having a ball, big smiles," says Jill Henricks.

The big smiles continued as the over in the dance class where even legs and hands got scary. "I am just really thrilled to see people engaged at this level and I love to see the kids that are 17 show up in costume and bring their instruments and encouraged to see the
four-year-olds here decked out and wanting to jump from class to class and it's turning out to be everything we hoped it would be," says Linda Weise, Director of the Colorado Springs Conservatory.

And parents are equally as excited that their kids had a fun Halloween treat, that was more than just going door to door for candy.

"Frankly after about the 3rd candy bar it gets kind of old," says Weise. "With three kids, I have twin five-year-olds and a ten-year-old and a way of entertaining them at all ages," says Henricks.

This is the first year the Conservatory put on Halloween themed classes and since it was a such a great turnout the organization is now looking forward to next Halloween.

There was also a hourly drawing for best costume.
