One life can make a difference.

That's the message a local publisher wants to send to our community in response to what the troops are doing overseas. As a way to give thanks she is organizing a drive to send care packages to soldiers fighting the war.

"Being over there and seeing what the troops have done, and seeing the difference they have made in the lives of the Kurdish people and they couldn't say enough positive things about the soldiers over there," Cinnamon Bird. the publisher of Alegria Living Magazine.

She is opening up her office for donations like candy, gum, pen and paper, energy bars and powdered drink mixes...all for the troops!

Along with making a trip overseas and seeing what the troops are doing, one of her co-workers' husbands is deployed as well.

So, this project means a lot to her and the community is responding.
"I think a small comfort from home will certainly make their sacrifice a little easier to take while in Afghanistan," says Staci Blair. She donated Oreo cookies, pen and paper and beef jerky for the troops.

The magazine is partnering with Cronkhite Wealth Strategies and Paravicini's Italian Bistro to bring the donations to the troops.

If you would like to donate to the cause you can contact Cinnamon Bird at her office at 2605 W. Colorado Ave. Suite 201 Colorado Springs, Colorado 80904 or call (719) 776-1200
