She's terrified to leave her home, she's constantly looking over her shoulder and it's all thanks to a strange man who exposed himself to her early Sunday morning.

It happened near Maizeland Rd and North Academy Blvd. in Colorado Springs while it was still dark outside.

The victim, Christine Hyatt, said she was walking to the nearby Shell gas station where a friend was waiting to drive her to work. It's a routine of hers, but this Sunday morning is when everything changed.

"I shouldn't feel afraid," said Hyatt.

She said a young looking man was driving down her block very slowly right beside her. She thought he was lost until he began circling around her. "He kept picking different places to turn around and he was constantly surrounding me," said Hyatt.

Immediately, she called the police station. "For all I knew he was going to try and kidnap me or hurt me or run me over," said Hyatt.

When she finally looked over at the driver, she saw him smiling at her and touching himself inappropriately. "He had his window rolled down and was leaned forward so that you could see what he was doing, and I just gave him this disgusting look like, 'What are you doing'",? said Hyatt.

The driver took off after that, but was captured just a few blocks away. "Is he out of jail right now, is he here right now, do I need to worry about being safe in my house?," said Hyatt.

Christine says she's not sure what would have happened had she not had her cell phone with her. "I felt very violated and scared for my life," said Hyatt.

Christine says police told her this isn't the first time he's done this. Police also told Christine that she did everything right. She stayed calm, called police and wrote down his license plate information.

The suspect's name has not yet been released.

Christine said he looked like he could be in his mid 20's, light blonde short hair and thin body frame.

I am glad something like this made news. When I saw it air, it took my breath away. They showed the parking lot and the apt building and I realized it was my complex! I looked out the window and his car was there. I am soooo happy that this made the news because now I can be extra, extra cautious around home for me and my daughter. I only wish that they could of showed a picture so I could better see who this man is and stay as far away if I see him. After I seen it air on the news, I called the police department so I could see who, and what the man looked like and if he was in jail. Things like this are scary and shouldn't be looked at as a minor charge. It could lead to something more serious!

While I feel for this woman and I'm very glad the person was arrested and will go to court; I don't get why it made news??? I could see if it was a child or something, but this is an adult and nothing physically happened to her? This almost exact same thing happened to me once near the same area, only I was 16 and had no idea what to do. Still nothing happened (I didn't have a cell on me and never reported it, because I really couldn't tell you much, I was just freaked out.) I will say that I certainly wouldn't have put my picture on the news with my name ect. -that would freak me out even more. Like I said I feel badly for her and very glad she had the sense to do the right thing, I just don't get why it's news; unless it's to be some kind of warning for ppl. in that area???
