Fort Carson's A Troop, 1-10 CAV, 2BCT, 4ID soldiers will soon be enjoying some gifts from home.

On Thursday, KKTV joined the troop's Family Readiness Group at the post office and paid to ship about 15 packages to Camp Summers in Iraq.

The packages, full of everything from footballs, soccer balls, volleyballs, toy cars, ping pong equipment, poker sets and board games, were sent to give the soldiers something fun to do on their time off.

The Cheyenne Shadows golf course generously donated about a dozen golf clubs and thousands of golf balls for the soldiers to set up a range. The only catch: the golf course wants pictures of the troops golfing in the desert to hang in their pro shop.

FRG Leader Natalia Bryan, wife of Staff Sgt. James Bryan, says the packages are "a little taste of home."

A Troop, 1-10 CAV, 2BCT, 4ID soldiers deployed to Iraq at the beginning of September in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. They are currently serving a 12-month deployment, training Iraqi police and military members. For many of these soldiers, this is their second, third or fourth deployment.
