Blueberry Scones



2 ½ cups flour
¼ cup packed brown sugar
1 Tablespoon baking powder
¾ teaspoons baking soda
¾ teaspoons salt
4 ½ oz butter
¾ cup oats
¾ cup fresh or frozen- but thawed- blueberries
1 ½ cup half & half
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
*Garnish- Turbinado sugar (sugar in the raw) and oats


Whisk flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl until there are no big lumps. Cut the butter into small pieces and using your hands, mix into the flour mixture until pea-size chunks remain. Toss in the oats and blueberries until they’re coated with the flour mix. Mix in the half & half and the vanilla extract until the dough comes together (it will be very moist). Bake 350 Degrees F for 25-30 minutes, rotating halfway through.
