SCAM ALERT: Phone Calls From Person Posing As Police Officer

There's a new phone scam to be on the alert for.

People are getting calls from someone claiming to be a police officer, who then asks for a lot of personal information. The calls are coming from a 303 area code. Any calls from 303-578-5558, or any combination of the last four digits, is probably a scam.

Investigators say the calls are most likely based overseas, and are hiding behind the Colorado area code. So far, no one has been reported as falling for the scam.
