The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of 20,000 strollers Friday.
Car seat and stroller manufacturer Britax is voluntarily recalling strollers from their B-Nimble model due to potential safety issues regarding the brake pedal.
In a release Friday, the CPSC said Britax had received seven reports of the brake not fully engaging, likely due to a clicking noise when the brake pedal was pressed giving a false impression that the brake was engaged. This could cause the stroller to move unexpectedly, and pose an injury risk for the child. At this time, no injuries have been reported.
The B-Nimble strollers in question were manufactured on or after August 2010, and have been sold since September 2010. Parents can find the stroller's manufacture date, as well as model number and batch number, on the stroller frame near the storage basket. Model numbers U311771, U311773, U311775 and U311780 are all being recalled.
Parents can call Britax toll-free at 888-427-4829 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday-Friday for further information and a replacement stroller.
