An old scam is new again because crooks know it works and they're looking to snag your cash.
They're calling folks in Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas claiming they're going to send you a new medical card and already have your name, address, and phone number.
Next, they ask for victim's checking account information.
That's when the warning bells should go off, as they did for an alert Colorado Springs woman Tuesday.
Just remember legitimate groups you're affiliated with - like your insurance company, Social Security, Medicare, and your bank - already have your personal information.
They will never ask you for it unless you are the one initiating the call and they're trying to verify your identity.
If you're suspicious of any phone call, get the person's name and number and then call us.
Our 11Call For Action team would be happy to check it out.
