I just received three calls on my cell phone that I never should have gotten.
I've heard from others here in the Springs who got the same calls.

If you're like me and have your number registered on the "No Call List" you shouldn't get them at all, but these guys don't follow the rules.

It starts with a robo call from someone with "Account Services."

Then if you press "1" someone asks if you want to lower your credit card interest rate.

Bottom line they want your credit card number, don't give it out. If you do, your card could be charged $395 on up.

Because these calls are spoofed what reads out on caller I.D. isn't accurate so they can't be traced.

And don't argue with the crooks. If you do they may give out your phone number as their supervisor's number so you're the one being hassled.

I talked to a spokeswoman with the Indiana Attorney General's office.

She calls these operators, "Moving targets" because even though lawsuits were filed against one such company, Consumer Credit Group of Florida.

The operators simply shut down and reopened under a new name.

The FTC is even involved, but again the crooks are moving targets.

Just remember never give a stranger your credit card number and if you don't recognize a number don't feel compelled to answer. If it's important, someone will leave a message.
