They crowded into an overflow room at the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department.
There wasn't enough space in the hearing room for everyone claiming to have been ripped off by the roofing company, Green Life Exteriors.
We've been speaking to some of these customers for months.
Brandi Bickell told board members, "It was problem after problem."
But today the man in question, owner Bill Bowen, never showed up.
He was supposed to appear here last month, but begged for an extension.
This time the board called it, "a slap in the face"... that he wasn't there.
Our 11 Call for Action Investigation found... Green Life Exteriors is accused of performing some work without a license, failing to pull some permits, and in several cases... taking people's money without doing any work at all.
Monica Stabb of Colorado Springs spoke on behalf of 30-plus victims.
Staab said, "Green Life left her with just felt on her leaking roof for more than two months. She didn't want to come forward till now because she told me she was embarrassed."
Bowen's attorney, Tom Ramunda asked questions, but had very few answers for the board, which voted to suspend Bowen's license to do work in Colorado Springs and El Paso County.
Later I asked Tom Ramunda about his role and he said, "I don't have my whole, the parameters of my involvement yet figured out."
I told him, "There were a lot of people who wanted to see him face to face."
Ramunda responded, "Well, you know, he had scheduling conflicts."
I asked, "When he knew about this meeting for two months?"
He said, "Things come up."
Also at the hearing... A Colorado Springs police detective armed with a warrant for Bowen's arrest.
According to the El Paso County District Attorney, Bowen faces a total of 12 counts... 4 for felony theft, plus 8 felony theft charges for cases involving seniors. We're told two more charges are pending.
One customer told the board, "...Basically they have my money, there has been no work done and I'm out."
But there was a silver lining. After seeing our stories on Green Life Exteriors... someone has stepped in to help.
A family-owned business got involved.
