He eluded authorities for months, but now Bill Bowen, owner of Greenlife Exteriors, is behind bars in York County, South Carolina.
We're told he will not fight extradition to Colorado.

After our 11 Call for Action Investigation revealed the tactics used by Bowen, the El Paso County District Attorney issued a warrant for his arrest.

Altogether he faces 12 felony counts of theft. Eight of those involve seniors who are considered at risk adults.

Monica Staab says she's just one of 43 victims. "You're embarrassed, then you're mad, and now I'm just really glad. I'm just really glad they've gotten him and hopefully we'll get the justice that he deserves."

After I contacted the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, state agents traced Bowen to Lake Wylie, South Carolina. They reached out to the York County Sheriff's Office and deputies arrested him last Friday. I'm told he was living in the Hamilton's Bay condominium complex.

Greenlife reportedly went door to door, performing some work without a license and often failing to pull permits.

Customers we talked to say he cashed their checks and either left them high and dry or with work that wouldn't pass inspection.

Terri Roney of Colorado Springs told us, "I still need a new roof. I got nothing."

The silver lining to our investigation has been the outpouring of support for Greenlife's customers from other roofing companies.

Steve Seder with Aspen Roofing repaired Melissa Finn's roof for free. He said, "This will allow the homeowner to get the permit closed and finished and they can move on from this."

Melissa was out $7,300. "Thank you, thank you Aspen Roofing! Thank you!" explained Melissa.

The best advice: always get several estimates before hiring a contractor, check the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department for complaints and never hire someone who stops by and knocks on your door unsolicited.

As for Bowen: we'll keep you posted.
