All quiet outside the Garrison home where it's day six of the family being without the use of toilets and showers.
But the nasty sewer line break will soon be a thing of the past.
Work will get started in the front yard... thanks to some generous Colorado Springs businesses.
Affordable Plumbing has agreed to greatly discount all the plumbing repairs.
Ron Reyes will supervise the work.
Ron told us, "It's a plus for us to come in and help these people out anyway we can."
Silver Key, the local non-profit whose mission is helping seniors ... is picking up the plumbing tab.
Michelle Dean with Silver Key says, "We're really excited about this situation. We're glad that these people can get the help that they need."
On top of that... Wildcat Construction has agreed to handle the cost of excavation. It's also promising to later fix up the Garrison yard... making it better than it was before.
Rose Garrison couldn't help but cry when I told her the project wouldn't cost her a thing.
Rose says, "I just... I can't believe there's people like that. I've worried about this because I worked so hard . I just can't believe it. They don't know us and they're willing to do this for us."
Rose says she's learned a lot from this experience.
When she first discovered plumbing problems last week... she called Roto Rooter.
Things went downhill when its technician's cable got stuck in the pipe.
Rose says she was told she was responsible for the tech's loss of equipment and was looking at a minimum bill of $4,500.
But once we got involved... Roto Rooter agreed to walk away and let others take over.
Rose told me, "You've done all this you know... tracking everything down. It's terrific."
Just remember... no one's ever prepared for a sewer break.
If you live in an older neighborhood, the best advice is preventative maintenance... paying for a plumbing company to clean out your sewer line to avoid a costly break.
