The Drowsy Chaperone (Don Ward)
Updated: 05/20/2013 - Two weekends left to catch one great show!
These slick little cards keep showing up in Julie Zamora's mailbox in Rocky Ford, Colorado.
She bit on one of the offers... to get a new, in the box Panasonic television for just $36.94.
Julie tells me she knew it was too good to be true, but took a chance anyway.
Julie mailed in this check for close to $37 back in mid-July to FFS, Secure Storage Facility. Looking at the picture on the postcards... you might think the company's located in a large warehouse, storing items like the ones they list... bracelets, cameras, computers, iphones, and wii game systems.
But Google Map shows the building's not a facility for liquidated merchandise... it's just a post office drop box on the west side of Vegas.
When two months passed with no Panasonic TV... Julie wrote the company demanding a refund.
She even threatened to contact me, Betty Sexton and said Call for Action would investigate... and guess what... it worked!
Julie got back a check for the entire amount.
The sad news here... a lot of folks are blogging on the internet saying they, too were ripped off by FFS.
I couldn't get anymore information about the company from the Better Business Bureau, postal inspectors, or even the Nevada Attorney General's office.
In fact, because of budget cuts the state of Nevada's temporarily eliminated its consumer protection bureau.
So the next time you see something like this... tear it up and throw it away.
