Hit Man Email

Folks all over the country are getting the email. Most are high profile... like doctors, lawyers, and business owners.
The author claims to be a hit man who's been paid to take you out... but this bad guy has a conscience. He says he'll spare your life if you cough up a lot of dough.
Ron Covert, General Manager of the Faricy Boys Chrysler/Jeep dealership received the emal.
His reaction... "I'm sitting there reading it in disbelief because you know... I've never thought I've ever upset anybody enough to offer to kill me, but it was a little disconcerting."
Covert says he knows car dealers are often targeted, but he's never received anything like this before.
The email has numerous grammatical and spelling errors, but the message is clear. The author's been paid $50,000 to terminate you, but if you pay him $20,000 he'll forget all about it... and even tell you who wants you dead. He also warns you not to go to the police.
Covert says, "Even if it had been somebody and it was true... I still would've gone to the police and fought it."
The FBI was able to trace the email to Moscow, Russia, but that's where the trail goes cold. Agents say the author's looking for cash or your identity.
FBI agent William Shore. "If you respond to it, you may end up giving up personal information that can be used for criminal purposes like identity theft or credit cards or banking information."
Covert notified Colorado Springs Police and officers tell me... a few others have also received this nasty email.
If you get one... you're urged to contact the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center.... at www. i-c-3.gov.
