Consumers Union which brings you Consumer Reports sent a two-page letter to Congress today.
It says it's concerned about millions of people across the country who can't afford a new, digital television and are now waiting to get a government coupon to buy a converter box.
Just recently, the TV converter box program run by Uncle Sam announced it was out of money. So now hundreds of thousands of people are on a waiting list to get a coupon.
The group points to another potential problem. It believes the Federal Communications Commission's national call center isn't equipped to handle all the calls it'll take when the change is made.
Bottom line... Consumers Union believes more time is needed to make sure the switch will be a smooth one.
