According to the National Retail Federation, this holiday season many retailers are working to make sure the return process is as painless as possible.
Scott Krugman with the NRF says that since finances are tight, some retailers are competing by loosening return policies.
Bottom line there are steps you can take to make the return process easier. First, know the retailer's return policy before you even make a purchase. Save and file your receipts. Try to provide the original packaging, when giving a gift. Finally, be patient... the holiday shopping season can mean long lines.
