The Fourth Judicial District Attorney's office has heard from several residents who received congratulation letters and checks in the mail.
Crooks are using the name, Atlantic Marketing & Research Management, Inc.
It claims you've been chosen to become a secret shopper and can now go to various local stores, using the marketing company's money to buy gifts you'd like to purchase. The big red flag... a fraudulent check made out for too much money. You're asked to wire back funds to Canada.
Remember, companies don't hire employees sight unseen. Always do business with folks locally, whom you can meet face to face.
