Crooks are now listing homes for rent... that aren't... trying to pocket an application fee and deposit money.
It happened to Heidi Goodack in Colorado Springs.
Her tri-level is for sale... not for rent.
She didn't know someone was using her realtor's listing ... until would-be renters came by.
Goodack says, "It's an invasion of your privacy. It just takes away a little bit of your comfort level. Even my kids were scared."
The District Attorney's office also heard from a potential victim and has issued a warning.
The bottom line... never send money to someone you never met... for something you haven't received.
