A local man is frustrated after he says he paid for window coverings for his home more than a year ago, and some of them have still not been delivered.

In this 11 Call For Action Alert, we are getting answers about the problem.

Jim Doolittle tells 11 News he was initially told the order would take about six weeks. Now, it's been more than 13 months and he still waiting on part of his order.

Doolittle says he ordered plantation shutters for eight windows in his home from a Colorado Springs company called Blindscapes.

He paid up front for the order, but so far he's only received six out of the eight shutters.

Doolittle says the company has changed its name to Blinds and Design For Less LLC.

He says the owner has made a series of excuses. At this point, he's not expecting to get the shutters and he's out more than $1,000.

"It's no fun to go through and fight somebody for 13 months on something and not get what you paid for. It takes a part of you, a piece of your happiness away," said Doolittle.

We reached out to the owner of the company, Lisa Rockwell. She didn't want to talk on camera, but tells us
she's had some health issues and has now filed for bankruptcy.

We checked with the Better Business Bureau and the original company, Blindscapes, has an F rating. There are more than a dozen complaints pending. The new company, Blinds and Design For Less LLC, isn't accredited with the BBB even though their website says they are.

Doolittle says he wishes he would have looked into the company beforehand.

"Do your homework and check the Better Business Bureau. Had I done that on even her original company Blindscapes, which had an F rating, I would have never ordered from her at that point," said Doolittle.

Rockwell tells 11 News that most of the BBB complaints are false, and are from people that she's never worked with.

She also tells 11 News she plans to work with Doolittle to complete his order, even though she says she isn't under obligation to do so because she filed for bankruptcy.
