Man At Center Of 11 Call For Action Investigation Out Of Jail

11 News has learned the former business owner in Southern Colorado who plead guilty to theft, is now out of jail.

This is an update to an 11 Call For Action investigation. 11 News first broke this story about Greg Ehnes, who owned Springs Transmissions and Automotive in Colorado Springs.

You'll remember 11 Call for Action's Betty Sexton confronted Ehnes, after several frustrated customers contacted 11 News in 2012 about faulty repairs to their vehicles. In some cases, the cars were at the shop for months on end.

Back in January, Ehnes plead guilty to theft, criminal mischief and theft from an at-risk adult. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail and 10 years of probation.

11 News has learned Ehnes was released from jail in early March.

The Colorado attorney general has an injunction against Ehnes that prohibits him from owning or operating any businesses that relate to automotive services.

He is scheduled to be in court May 2. That is when a judge will decide how much restitution Ehnes will have to pay, and how much money each victim will get. This hearing is only for victims involved in the criminal case in El Paso County.

You can count on 11 News to let you know what the judge decides.
