Severe Weather Outbreak Likely Just East of Here Next Week

March weather can sure be an interesting, but can also be quite threatening and potentially deadly.  La Nina years have a propensity for bringing large and violent tornado outbreaks, and we may have one of those on our hands next week.  Now this won't be for Colorado, but for areas just east of Colorado.  Eastern Kansas, eastern Oklahoma, eastern Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, etc., will all be under the gun next Tuesday.  Points east of there will get hit on Wednesday.  Below are some things that I am analyzing:

Forecast Upper Level Winds Tuesday March 8th:

Lots of wind energy coming out with that system.  Lots of change in direction and speed as you go up through the atmosphere.  This is a ripe wind environment for tornadoes.  Looks like they will have warmth and moisture from the Gulf too.  Areas along and east of the KS Turnpike could be a nasty place to be, next Tuesday afternoon...

You can see the L moving east across KS, with severe storms likely firing on the dryline near Wichita in the afternoon.  Right now, it looks like it will pass to far to the north to give Southern Colorado any good snow.  However, areas from the Palmer Divide northward will have to be watched closely.  This is the one we will be watching for the next few days...
