March 7th & 8th Winter Storm Discussion ** Updated **

** Updated 10:30pm Sunday Night ** Some of the questions I detailed in the earlier discussion, have become clearer. However, there is still some uncertainty as to when the storm exits. Regardless, the heaviest snow will likely fall Monday night. Have adjusted some amounts accordingly to be more precise than the earlier forecast. PLEASE KEEP THE SNOWFALL RANGE IN MIND AND DON'T JUST FOCUS ON THE HIGH NUMBER. Snowfall Potential Monday Evening - Tuesday: 7 to12"+": Cripple Creek, Canon City, Wetmore, Rye, Beulah, Colorado City, Walsenburg, Aguilar, Westcliffe, as well as all the Wet and the northern Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Cripple Creek, and Canon City will end up on the lower end of that range. However, the higher elevations of the Wets and Sangres may see amounts over a foot. 4 to 7": Far Southwest Colorado Springs, Woodland Park, Fountain, Pueblo West, Pueblo, Fowler, Ordway, La Junta, Lamar, Eads. Areas closest to the mountains will end up on the higher end of this range. Higher totals possible close to the mountains, with lower elevation areas ending up on the lower end of the range. 1 to 4": Most of Colorado Springs, Monument, Black Forest, Peyton, Calhan, Ellicott, Yoder, Rush, Trinidad, Kim, Springfield. and the rest of the Southeast Plains. Isolated higher amounts will be possible close to the mountains. The Tuesday morning commute will likely be challenging for some areas. However, the main accumulating snow will be shifting eastward over the Plains after early Tuesday morning. So, weather conditions will improve through the day. Highs only in the 20s and 30s.
