May 23rd, 2010 Southeast Plains Severe Weather Outbreak

Late Sunday afternoon, severe storms fired in Southeast Colorado and produced one large tornado and several reports of golfball to baseball size hail.  11 News viewers started sending us pictures and we used many of them for ground truth in dealing with these severe storms.  Check it out:

 

Those are just a few of the pictures, showing how rough the weather was for areas between Lamar and Springfield.  The tornado didn't do much damage, but was rated an EF-1 by the NWS in Pueblo.  You can access their write up by following this link:  http://www.crh.noaa.gov/news/display_cmsstory.php?wfo=pub&storyid=52811&source=0
