The storm system that looked like it was going to produce light snow for most of Southern Colorado, is looking less favorable today.  In fact, the storm is going so far south, that many locations in the northern part of the area may not see any accumulating snow.  Tough to take snow out of the forecast completely, for those areas, but I sure entertained the thought...lol.

Most of our computer models are still focused on delivering some light to moderate snow to areas south of HWY 50.  The Wet and Sangre de Cristo Mountains along with the far Southeast Plains may see the most snow from this storm.  The major metro areas of Canon City, Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Woodland Park, Monument, Denver, etc., likely won't see much snow at all.

Potential Snowfall Tonight - Thursday Night:

We are not expecting much change, as the storm looks like it has its track pegged.  However, we'll continue to watch for any changes.

Chief Meteorologist Brian Bledsoe

So the Groundhog says six more weeks of winter, huh? I'm still waiting for the first six weeks of winter to arrive here! So much for El Nino people. Weather guys say wait 'till March and April. Yeah, we'll see. Probably rain, but not snow. That's what happened last El nino. Remember that? 70's and 80's in March and April. Lots of rain, but not much snow.

Hey Julio-Iam concerned because because if ,as you say, we are 10inches under or avg, I might have to start watering my lawn soon and hope for a rainy, wet spring.

We got just under an inch. Man this winter is so depressing. I looked at all the long term forecast - for the next several weeks....NOTHING is headed our way. Nobody seems concerned but me though...

Thanks for the info Greg. Yeah, you must be pretty lucky to get that kind of amount. Most locations around the city have an inch or less, with a little more to come this evening. Thanks for reading our blog.

2-3 inches around my area, I'm assuming this is isolated? Have not ventured out yet today...what happened to a 'trace' of snow or no snow at all?

Hmmm. That is interesting. It seems like this winter has been the story of 3 to 6 inches turning out to be an inch or two and if one to 3 inches is forecast then we are lucky to get a snow shower. I guess it is all part of living near the mountains. I sure hope that we can get some decent moisture soon though:)

Yes, I agree he is doing a great job. It has been pretty easy this winter though, eh Brian? The fun part is putting up with all the critics on these message board. ;.) Seriously though, I give you a hard time, but you keep us informed. I don't like what you have to say most of the time, but you are usually accurate. I'm going to go out on a limb and say no snow for a while...heh, heh, heh...
