While our storm loses its grip on the northwestern part of the area, locally heavy snow will still be flying for areas along and south of HWY 50.  The snow for southern and southeastern sections of the area will persist through this afternoon before winding down this evening.

Additional Snowfall from 11am through this evening:

Trace:  Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Pueblo West, Falcon, Peyton.

1 to 3":  Woodland Park, Monument, Calhan, Canon City

3 to 6":  Fowler, Walsenburg, Trinidad. Wet and Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Rye, Beulah, Ordway, La Junta, Las Animas, Lamar, Eads, Springfield.

Rather you are in a location that sees additional snow or not, roads will remain slick.  There will also be blowing and drifting of the snow in rural areas.  Otherwise, skies might even become partly sunny for portions of El Paso and Pueblo Counties before the day is through.  Travel safely...

While Monday will be cool and breezy, it should be a decent day.  Much milder weather will be arriving for the middle of the week.

Brian, i'm just giving you a hard time like I always do. You probably read over posts and see Ed...and just shake your head. Anyways, sorry to always be the skeptical one. However, winters (snow) just isn't the same here as it used to be even 10 years ago. We used to get hammered, even in Widefield. We haven't seen much snow is quite a while. I hope this el nino nonsense everybody keeps talking about (usually julio) produces something worthwhile around here.

Ed, the only way we would censor your remarks is if you used bad language. If you don't do that, we will always post what you write. That's how we roll at 11News...Thanks for reading our blog.

Janet, I got a report from Woodland Park that about 6" was on the ground. A complete list of snow totals will be released a little later today. Thanks for reading our blog...

Since you refuse to post any of my other remarks on here, I suppose this won't get on either. But, I was right....

These blogs tell us what is expected but do not report what we have actually gotten. What has Woodland Park/Cripple Creek gotten so far?
