The graphics below depict the upper low track from late today through early Monday:

For those of you that are curious abou the time cycle, here's a key:  12Z=5am, 18Z=11am, 0Z=5pm, 6Z=11am.  The first map above starts with Saturday evening and ends on Monday morning.

Noitce how the upper low dives through The 4 Corners and heads due east across northern New Mexico and eventually ends up in the Texas Panhandle.  Pretty good track to produce good snow here in Southeast Colorado.  Models are still having some difficulty with the exact track, but all are pretty similar with the general track.  Keep in mind, any slight wobble north or south with a storm like this will have huge ramifications on the forecast.

A WINTER STORM WATCH remains in effect for later tonight through Sunday evening for all of Southeast Colorado.  This includes the cities of Woodland Park, Monument, Black Forest, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Canon City, Rye, Beulah, Walsenburg, Trinidad, Limon, Hugo, La Junta, Lamar and Springfield.

Potential Snowfall from Saturday night - Sunday night:

3 to 6 inches:  Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Pueblo West, Canon City, Walsenburg, Trinidad, Ellicott, Falcon, Rush, Yoder.

6 to 10 inches:  Denver, Castle Rock, Woodland Park, Cripple Creek, Monument, Black Forest, Peyton, Calhan, Limon, Hugo, La Junta, Eads, Lamar, Springfield.

10 inches +:  Wet and Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Rye, Beulah, Westcliffe, La Veta, Cuchara.

Again, this doesn't look like a huge storm for Southern Coloardo, but will be enough to cause travel problems late tonight and especially on Sunday.  If you have to travel, please be prepared for hazardous Winter driving conditions.  We will know more about this storm later today  Given new information available to us on Saturday afternoon and evening, we should be able to become even more specific with our snow total projections.

Yep. Now they have officially cancelled the winter weather watch/advisory/warning...whatever...for the Colorado Springs area. Big stinking surprise. Looks like it is tracking uh....somewhere else. I should get paid for this.

Looks like the latest model runs are tracking the system a bit farther north. If this happens, Ed's perdiction will be right on the money.

Well, you guys made your prediction. Here is mine: Monument - 4 to 8 inches, Briargate -2 to 4 inches, Southern Sprngs - trace to 1 inch. This storm is going to track somewhere else and we won't get much. My prediction. Hey, if I'm right on the money - Brian owes me lunch! Just kidding :)
