A WINTER STORM WATCH has been issued Saturday Evening through Sunday Evening for the I-25 Corridor (all of El Paso and Pueblo Counties), Wet and Sangre de Cristo Mountains. This includes the cities of Woodland Park, Monument, Black Forest, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Canon City, Rye, Beulah, Walsenburg, Trinidad. A storm system will start to impact the area during the day Saturday and pick up in intensity on Saturday night through Sunday. Locally heavy snow, cold temperatures, and gusty winds will be possible. This storm has the ability to produce snow amounts in excess of 6". In fact areas west of I-25, could see amounts over a foot before the storm ends on Sunday evening. There is still some uncertainty regarding this storm. When the new computer model data comes in this evening, we will give detailed snowfall projections. At this time, this storm DOES NOT look like it will miss Colorado Springs or Pueblo. Therefore, if you live in those cities, expect some snow from this storm. Mountain locations will see quite a bit of snow from this storm system. Be prepared for hazardous Winter travel, if headed that way. More information coming up tonight...

Your friendly neighborhood skeptic here. I'll believe it when I have to use my snow shovel. I still expect to hear the words "it tracked a bit too far _______ for the Colorado Springs metro to see any significant snow" However, if...IF I am wrong, I will glady come on here and eat crow. Gladly :) Posted by: Jeannine Location: Colorado Springs Hey Brian, would the accumulation amounts be given out on the 5:00 news or will it be tonight, I believe 10. Posted by: Brian Location: Weather Center Jan, the Watch includes all of El Paso County. Thanks for reading our blog... Posted by: Jan Location: Colo Spgs The area does not look like it will include Falcon. Right??? |
