If you read our blog, you know we have been focused on the El Nino since this past Spring. The graphic below is a graph of various computer model predictions on how strong or weak this El Nino will get. As you can see, most of the models indicate it will strengthen a bit this Winter, then start to subside later next Spring. It will likely end up as a "moderate" El Nino, which still should bode well for snow production for Southern Colorado.
I have also attached the monthly El Nino assessment by the Climate Prediction Center. Interesting to see what they think too...
I will continue to post frequent updates on El Nino, as it will be the main driver for our weather, for months to come. Hoping for some snow... Chief Meteorologist Brian Bledsoe |

I hope that we get a crap load of snow this year and I hope that it is a little on the harsh side this year. Posted by: my.02 Location: widefield Ed, we never get what in town gets. How long have you lived here? I have gotten used to the forcast.."Snow, well, unless you live in Widefield. Then it will pass right around you" Posted by: Ed Location: widefield My cousin lives in Black Forest and you called for several inches there. They got close to nothing. I wasn't critisizing you, just making an observation. So it is again 0 for 1. :) Posted by: Brian Location: Weather Center Actually, 1 for 1 for you Ed.
