Winter Here for Awhile...

We have had some pretty wild temperature fluctuations this Fall and early Winter, but we won't have to deal with any of those for a while.  Why?  Because the cold is going to be a staple in our forecast for the foreseeable future.  Bitterly cold air has been building in Canada for the past several weeks, and the weather pattern has shifted enough so this air can impact our area.  Highs for most of this week will only be in the 20's and 30's, and that same bitter airmass may make an encore next weekend.  We haven't had much problem with snow at the lower elevations, but the mountains have been getting crushed.  Feet of snow has fallen in the Colorado High Country ( especiall the southwest mountains ), and more is expected this week.  Ski resorts have to be loving this kind of "gift" right before Christmas.  No doubt, there will be a lot of skiers in the mountains for the Holidays with lots of fresh powder...
