Recent Halloween Weather...

If you talk to folks in Southern Colorado about Halloween weather, you will usually hear about how it can be a nasty day.  It can be cold, snowy, windy, anything but nice.  I decided to look back at the past 4 years and see just how bad it has been.  The stats for Colorado Springs and Pueblo are below:

                       CO Springs                                       Pueblo

2007         High of 44 & Dry                           High of 56 & Dry  (  It got pretty cold during the evening, and it was a chilly trick or treat )

2006         High of 29 & Dry                           High of 39 & Dry  ( The previous day had highs in the 60's and 70's )

2005         High of 50 & Dry                           High of 57 & Dry   ( Pretty nice weather )

2004         High of 55 & Dry                           High of 62 & Dry   ( Rain/Snow showers developed during the evening after a nice day )

As you can see, it hasn't been that bad for the past few years.  Sure it was chilly last year and downright cold the year before, but we haven't had any recent blizzards on Halloween.  Probably the most notable Halloween Blizzard in the past 20 years, was a huge storm that struck the Midwest in 1991.  You can go to the following link and check out the impressive stats:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halloween_Blizzard

No blizzards in our Halloween forecast.  In fact, it will be just the opposite with highs in the 70's for most of us.  Enjoy the nice weather, and enjoy Halloween safely.

I guess the wind is so high that it blew in the Holiday a week early. The seven day out look shows the holiday this Wednesday but it should show the next week on the 11th. Kind of like how backwords thing will be if Brock makes it into Office.
