Drought Update: 9/17/08

Since August began, we have seen several bouts of scattered showers and storms.  Some of that rain has been rather significant, producing localized flooding and actually causing some problems.  However, the rain has done a lot of good to eliminate the severe drought that was impacting Southern Colorado.  See the Drought Monitor below:

While some areas of the Southeast Plains are still pretty dry, conditions have improved quite a bit.  We have seen some dry weather lately, and we really don't see any good rain chances in the near future.  Early next week, we will have a cold front move through the area.  That may be our next best chance for some rain, but at this point it doesn't look too promising.

    wow talk about all the rain we had in august and september you gotta belive that we might not have a dry winter after all
