An Early Taste of Fall...

August 13th, 2008:

After a hot and very dry July, the first part of August has been a little cooler and certainly wetter.  By Friday and Saturday, we are going to feel the effects of a strong storm system.  This storm will bring much cooler air to Southern Colorado, and a good chance for some widespread and possibly significant rain.  High temperatures will end up being 15 to 20 degrees below normal !  Above 10,000 feet, some wet snow may also occur.  If you have travel planned in the mountains, be prepared for the chilly and wet weather.  The snow won't cause any travel problems, but the dramatic change in the weather may catch some folks by surprise.  Don't say we didn't warn you.  By early next week, we will get back on track with drier and warmer weather.  In fact, Monday through Wednesday are looking gorgeous.
