The tropics continue to get active, and Dolly is likely going to threaten the South Texas Coast before the week is through. Dolly is forecast to be a hurricane by the time it gets to Brownsville. Below is the forecast track and intensity forecast:
Southeast Texas is also in the midst of a terrible drought, so Dolly's moisture is going to be welcome. Dolly could drop more than a foot of rain in some areas, so Flash Flooding will likely become an issue. However, I am sure most areas will welcome the rain. The Drought Monitor shows they type of drought they are in, and it rivals the one we have in Southeast Colorado. Check it out:
