Hurricane Earl Update 8/31

There's Earl.  Still plowign through the open water of the western Atlantic.  Earl has be reorganizing during the past 18 hours or so and doesn't look quite as impressive as last night.  Think that will change tonight, as Earl moves over very warm water and a very low shear environment.

The overall track and intensity of Earl hasn't changed.  A slightly westward course since last night, but nothing radically different.  Below is the official NHC forecast track for Earl:

Earl still doesn't look like it will hit the US Coast directly, but will run parallel to it.  This will produce tropical storm force winds, heavy rain, and pounding surf.  While it will interrupt some Labor Day Weekend plans, it still beats a direct landfall from a big storm like Earl.
