Stanford's comeback win over Notre Dame was a fitting way to end Charlie Weiss's career in South Bend. For five seasons he teased Irish fans thinking they were better than they really were. Saturday night, the Irish held a late lead, only to blow it in the final minutes. He's a tease.... So long Charlie!

For a third straight year College Football's Harris Poll has extended me an invitation to be a Top 25 voter (1 of 114 in the country).  I am honored to be trusted with such a huge responsibility.  It's a role I am passionate about and take very seriously as the Harris Poll is a huge part of the BCS equation that determines who plays for a National Championship.  I will continue to make my votes public on this blog site.  Check in each Sunday morning to see how I voted.  Feel free to leave your thoughts, praise and/or criticisms in the "comment" feature on this page.

We are getting closer to a Florida-Texas national championship showdown (somebody predicted that very match-up on this very blog back in August).  The Gators were ever so impressive on Saturday afternoon in a 27-point beatdown of Florida State.  For the record, Tim Tebow is the NOT the greatest college football player ever, but he is the successful leader I have ever seen (however, the lovefest that was displayed on Saturday afternoon by CBS was a bit much).

Here's hoping TCU finds a way to crack into the title game.  Their only chance is if Texas loses to Nebraska in the Big 12 Championship.  Highly unlikely, but it would be fun.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.  Notre Dame made a huge mistake by not throwing a blank check at Urban Meyer when they had the chance in 2005.  They low-balled him, thinking the prestige of coaching at Notre Dame was priceless, and the Irish lost out to Florida.  SCOREBOARD: Florida 2 (working on 3), Notre Dame 0.... as in National Titles.  The Irish will be paying for this mistake for years, if not decades to come.  Stanford is up to #14 in my poll this week.
