For a third straight year College Football's Harris Poll has extended me an invitation to be a Top 25 voter (1 of 114 in the country).  I am honored to be trusted with such a huge responsibility.  It's a role I am passionate about and take very seriously as the Harris Poll is a huge part of the BCS equation that determines who plays for a National Championship.  I will continue to make my votes public on this blog site.  Check in each Sunday morning to see how I voted.  Feel free to leave your thoughts, praise and/or criticisms in the "comment" feature on this page.

Three words sum up my thoughts on college football this weekend.... Tim Tebow - WOW!  I have never been caught up in the "Tim Tebow Love Affair" during his time at Florida.  At times I felt nauseous watching it unfold on the television screen.  It was overkill.  But after watching him play at LSU two weeks after he suffered a knockout hit that would make NyQuil jealous, you can count me in!  I am professing my man love for Tim Tebow.  He will not only go down as one of the greatest players in college football history, but one of the greatest leaders of men in the 21st Century.  His "numbers" weren't great...  11/16 for 134 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.  But his leadership is immeasurable having led a victory in perhaps the most hostile environment in college football (night game in Baton Rouge can be brutal on an opponent!).  The Gators have proven again they rally around Tim Tebow!  He brings out the best in the Gators as football players.  With that said, I have vaulted Florida into my #1 ranking this week for the first time this season.

With the Gators moving into the #1 spot, I have dropped Texas from #1 to #3.  I have been on the Longhorns bang wagon all season long.  One of the few voters in the country who have been voting the "Horns #1 since the start of the season.  But after another debacle of a first half on Saturday, I'm starting to have my doubts.  Living here in Colorado I know the Buffaloes and Wyoming Cowboys are not good football teams in 2009.  They don't belong on the same field as Texas.  However, both teams not only "hung" with the 'Horns but outplayed them for 30 minutes.  Sure Colt McCoy and company rallied with superb second halves on both games en route to blowout wins, but that sort of first half play wouldn't cut it against Florida, Alabama or Virginia Tech.  I still think Texas will play for a National Title because either Alabama and Florida will knock the other out of contention, but I need to see more of a complete effort from Mack Brown's Longhorns before I go full throttle on the bang wagon again.

For what it's worth...  I think Alabama is SCARY GOOD!  They may be the most complete football team I have seen all season.  Greg McElroy's ability to use a variety of weapons, Mark Ingram's has had his best rushing performances in the biggest games (172 yards, 1 TD against Mississippi) and the defense is big, fast and strong.  I have been sooooo impressed with 'Bama, I toyed with the idea of voting the 'Tide #1 this week.... but left them at #2 because Florida's win at LSU was too impressive to ignore.  However, I have moved Nick Saban's crew ahead of Texas for the first time this season.

Finally, Nebraska showed a TON of guts on Thursday night.  On a stormy, wet and cold night in Columbia that saw them down 9-0 at halftime and void of any momentum (having surrendered a TD on the last play of the first half), the Huskers rallied with an impressive road win at previously unbeaten Missouri 27-12.  Zac Lee led Nebraska to four, 4th quarter touchdowns to prove his team may be down but never out.  Perhaps that mentality will lead to big things for the rest of the season.  Nebraska (5-1) should be 7-1 when they host Oklahoma on November 7th.

Here is a look at how I voted in this week's Harris Poll:
