Jesse Kurtz's Top 25 Poll - Sunday, October 19th

The 'Horns hook the #1 spot in the land after turning Mizzou into Mizz-Who?

The eyes of Texas are looking down at everybody in college football in my mind.  There are the Longhorns, then everybody else.  After dismantling Missouri, and holding Chase Daniel and company scoreless at halftime, the Longhorns have proven they are THE team to beat in college football.  The road does not get any easier for the 'Horns as they host #8 Oklahoma State next weekend.

Alabama drops to #2.  The Tide nearly beat Ole Miss, but I am on record as saying any win in the SEC is a good win no matter how close.  With that said, I had to drop them a spot.  Not because of what they did, more because of what Texas did.  The Horns are that good!

The Mountain West took a shot to the face this week.  BYU's loss to TCU drops the Cougars out of the Top Ten.  However, TCU is back in my Top 20 at #18 after the impressive beat-down in Fort Worth.  Utah is now in the drivers seat to be a BCS buster for the second time in four years.

Got thoughts?  Criticism or comments?  Leave the on the upper right-hand side of the page.

Until next week, keep livin' the dream...  Jesse Kurtz, KKTV Sports Anchor

No Poll speculations on NFL Super Bowl Champs? AFC goes to Houston Texans after beating Steelers NFC goes to TB Bucks after beating the Rams Can't decide from there, it'll be a tough game. Yeah it's a stretch, but anything is possible this year. I was right about TB Rays going to the world series, and everyone said I was crazy in March, too.

Week 9 and 10 will determine who will be the BCS National Champions. Oklahoma state will beat Texas this week, and can possibly go undefeated the rest of the year. Week 10 will determine who Bama will play in the SEC Championship: UGA or the Gators. If Florida wins, It will be Bama vs. OK St. If Georgia beats Florida and Georgia beats Bama, Ok St will probably play USC for National Champs. Georgia will probably end up playing Utah. If you're not USC or Ohio State, even going undefeated or having one loss is never enough. It's a wonder that a team like USC can lose to a non rank team and still be in contention for nationals, but an SEC team whose whole schedule plays top 25 ranked teams on the road drops out of the top ten after losing to a 8th ranked team.
