Jesse Kurtz's Top 25 Poll - Sunday, September 28

It's a week of shakeup in the Top 25.  Six ranked teams fall to unranked opponents including three Top 10 teams (USC, Florida, Wisconsin).  I have dropped the Trojans to #11, Florida to #14 and Wisconsin to #18.

How 'bout them Sooners.  I have been saying since day 1 Oklahoma was the best team in the country and they finally proved it with a quality win over TCU (the Frogs are still at Top 25 team in my mind).  To score 35 points against TCU's stout defense proves Oklahoma is more than just OK, they are the top dogs in all the land.

Speaking of Dawgs, how 'bout the whoopin' Alabama put on Georgia.  The "Blackout" turned into "Lights Out" on Athens, GA.  I was so impressed with what 'Bama did in that environment, I vaulted the Tide to #2.   John Parker Wilson to Julio Jones connection is one of the most feared in the country after what they did Saturday night.  With very winnable games against Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee and Arkansas State, the Crimson Tide could be 9-0 heading into a showdown with LSU in early November.  That should be for the SEC West title.

The Big 12 is giving the SEC a run for its money when it comes to the best conference in College Football.  I have four Big 12 teams in my top six (although I need to see Texas Tech put it on somebody other than UMASS).  But Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri all look to be the "real deal" because of stellar quarterback play (the most important factor in being a dominant college football team).

I welcome your thoughts at the top of the page in the comment box.  Until next week, keep livin' the dream!

Big 12 does look good this year. But better count CU out after that embarrasing performance in FL.
