Jesse Kurtz's Top 25 Poll - Sunday, September 21

Only one change in my Top 10 this week.  Oregon drops down to #24 after being upset by Boise State.  Alabama moves in with an impressive win over Arkansas.  I was very impressed with Georgia's road win at Arizona State.  It was the Bulldog's first non-conference road trip to the west since 1960.  Matthew Stafford and Knowshon Moreno continue to be one of the best 1-2 punches in the country.

Oklahoma and USC both took the week off and still occupy by #1 and #2 slots.  The Sooners will get their first test of the season with TCU rolling into Norman on Saturday.  Remember 2005?  The Frogs beat OU (then #7) in Norman by containing Adrian Peterson.  Can they duplicate the feat?  I don't think so.  This Sooners team is too talented, too grounded to let that happen.  It's the reason I still think they're the best team in America.  I am waiting for others to jump on the bandwagon.  The Sooners didn't get a single #1 vote in last week's AP Poll.

BYU continues to roll.  The Cougars are the real deal.  Both offensively and defensively.  I still have three MWC teams in my Top 25 (BYU, Utah and TCU).  Compare that to only two Pac-10 teams (USC and Oregon... and I'm being generous to the Ducks at #24).  Did the Pac 10 not get the invitation to this college football season?

Finally, kudos to Dan Hawkins and the Buffs.  A great win over West Virginia on Thursday night.  Hawk says his team is starting to "buy" in to what his staff is preaching.  If that is true, look out!  CU could be a Top 10 team as early as next year because the Buffs are built to be a powerhouse in the not-so-distant future.  I have ranked Colorado at #25 this week (they really only have one quality win).  A win over Florida State on Saturday could vault them into the Top 20 by next Sunday.

I welcome your thoughts at the top of the page in the comment box.  Until next week, keep livin' the dream!
