Two weeks ago I wrote on this very blog that I believed Missouri was a better team than Kansas (I got a ton of slack via email from Jayhawk fans) despite Mizzou having one loss versus KU's unbeaten record. Last night, the Tigers proved they are MUCH better than the J-Hawks. The score would indicate the game was close, but if you watched all 60 minutes you know better. Chase Daniel is the real deal. He earned a trip to NYC for the heisman ceremony in my mind. Heck, he may have even vaulted over Tim Tebow (I still think the Gator QB will win it tough). With all that said, Missouri is my new #1 team. They will play for a National Title with one more win over Oklahoma. I think they have a very good chance to avenge their only loss of the season next weekend.
West Virginia, my preseason pick to win the national title, is back in the mix. The Mountaineers made a statement yesterday by clobbering UCONN in what amounted to the Big East Championship Game. Ohio State, who many including myself left for dead, is back in the title mix. The Buckeyes will likely make the championship game if Mizzou falls to Oklahoma.
Poor LSU. The Tigers only two losses have come in triple-overtime. I dropped them to #4 this week. The Tigers are soooo talented, but they flirted with disaster too many times this year. And twice it bit them in the backside, and cost them the ultimate prize.
Got a comment this week. You can do so on the right side of the screen.
Until next time, keep living the dream. Jesse Kurtz, KKTV Sports Anchor/Reporter
